The Chinese Ambassador to Spain visits the ELIX Polymers facilities

Last 27 February, His Excellency Lyu Fan, Chinese Ambassador to Spain, accompanied by the Counsellor of Economy and Trade Mr Wang Yingqi and the Secretary Mr Yu Xinyu, paid a visit to the facilities of ELIX Polymers, a new member of the Sinochem International since January 2019.

Mr Chen Baoshu, Vice President and CTO of Sinochem Chemical SBU, was also present during the visit. He spoke about Sinochem International and Sinochem Plastics and gave a brief explanation of the future ABS development strategy of ELIX in China and across the world.

ELIX Polymers was represented by its CEO, Wolfgang Doering, its Business Director, Carlos Müller and its Operations and Business Development & Innovation Director, David Castañeda. Carlos Müller was tasked with presenting the history and evolution of ELIX, the company’s current business situation and its vision of developing the ABS industry worldwide together with Sinochem in the future.

Ambassador Lyu Fan and his delegation also had a long conversation with Mr Chen Baoshu and ELIX management about the acquisition of the company, the application of ABS products and the industrial structure, among other topics of interest. In addition, they voiced their positive expectations regarding the future development of ELIX Polymers.

The visit included a factory tour which allowed the visitors to see the facilities for themselves and the company’s management operations as a European ABS manufacturer.

This visit by the Ambassador and the Embassy representatives was very important for ELIX Polymers, as apart from giving us the opportunity to present the company and its growth in recent years, it has also helped to strengthen ties between China and Spain, now that ELIX is part of Sinochem.
